CDL-A Truck Driver | Hiring Area: Chicago, IL

Freight: No-touch, drop and hook
Home Time: 2 days every other week | Weekly Pay: $1,350 to $1,525

A CDL-A truck driver stepping into this role will find the day-to-day experience centered around dependable equipment, practical route planning, and a work environment that keeps time on the road efficient without unnecessary delays. This position is built for a Class A CDL driver who prefers straightforward freight, well-maintained trucks, and a routine that allows focus on driving rather than interruptions.

Equipment and Driving Experience

Drivers operate late-model tractors with automatic transmissions across a mixed fleet that includes Freightliner, Volvo, and Peterbilt units. Interiors are designed for comfort during extended runs, and trucks are maintained on a regular service cycle to help limit downtime while on route.

The setup supports a CDL A driver who values reliability behind the wheel and wants equipment that performs across different road conditions.

Freight and Work Flow

Freight is 100% no-touch and primarily drop and hook, allowing drivers to stay on schedule without extended dock time. Loads are arranged to support ongoing trip progression, with limited need for manual handling. Miles are supported through planned delivery sequencing, helping drivers move from one assignment to the next without unnecessary delays.

This approach allows a CDL-A truck driver to stay focused on driving and trip completion rather than load handling.

Home Time and Schedule

Time off is built into the schedule with two full days at home every other week. This structure allows drivers to step away from the truck, reset, and return ready for the next run.

The schedule works well for a Class A CDL driver who prefers longer runs with defined time off rather than frequent short resets.
