Roxbury Tenants of Harvard Association, Inc. (RTH) is a private 501(c)(3) multi-service nonprofit founded in 1969 by Mission Hill residents and Harvard University students. Our mission is to preserve and maintain safe, affordable housing while improving the quality of life for a diverse community of over 2,000 residents. Today, RTH remains a resident-led organization, governed by an eleven-member, all-resident Board of Directors; led by the people who call RTH home.

RTH is seeking a dependable and safety-focused CDL Per Diem Driver to provide transportation services for residents and program participants. This role involves operating a 12-passenger, or 22-passenger wheelchair-accessible van, assisting passengers, and ensuring a safe and positive transportation experience.
This is a per diem (as-needed) position with flexible, non-guaranteed hours.
Safely transport residents and program participants in accordance with scheduled routes
Assist passengers boarding and exiting the vehicle, including seniors and individuals with disabilities
Conduct daily vehicle safety inspections (interior, exterior, tires, lights, brakes)
Maintain vehicle cleanliness and ensure proper fueling and fluid levels
Ensure compliance with all state and local driving regulations
Document mileage, trips, and submit receipts/logs as required
Report accidents, safety concerns, or maintenance issues immediately
Support routine vehicle maintenance and identify performance concerns
Follow all RTH safety procedures and organizational standards
Perform additional duties as assigned
Minimum age of 25 with High School Diploma or GED
Valid CDL Class A or B license (required)
Passenger Endorsement (required)
Air Brake Endorsement (required)
Clean driving record
Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work effectively with a diverse population
Comfortable using GPS/navigation tools
CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
Commitment to safety and community service
Ability to sit for extended periods while driving
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to assist passengers, including securing wheelchairs
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and balance as needed
Per diem / on-call
Flexible schedule based on program needs
Hours are not guaranteed
Competitive hourly rate (based on experience)
This is a Per Diem / Temporary position. As such, the following benefits apply:
