CDL A Truck Driver – Interstate Dry Van
Hiring Area: Tallahassee, FL
$1,350–$1,500 weekly | Home every other weekend
No-touch freight | Consistent miles | Automatic trucks
Drivers in this position run consistent interstate lanes designed to keep miles steady without frequent route changes. Instead of being routed through constantly shifting freight, this operation focuses on keeping drivers within a structured network where loads are planned ahead of time. The result is a more predictable week with fewer delays and better control over both drive time and home time. With only three months of experience required, this is a strong option for drivers looking to move into a stable operation early in their career.
Equipment Setup
Assigned 2021 or newer Freightliner and Kenworth tractors with automatic transmissions. Most trucks are equipped with APUs, inverters, and refrigerator space to support drivers on multi-day runs. Equipment is maintained through a company network of shops, helping reduce unexpected downtime and keep drivers moving without long interruptions for service.
Earnings & Benefits
Weekly income typically falls between $1,350 and $1,500 depending on miles and experience. Detention pay is available for qualifying delays, adding protection when schedules are impacted by factors outside the driver's control. After six months, drivers are eligible for medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, and a 401(k) plan. Rider and pet policies are also available for approved drivers, giving additional flexibility on the road.
Route Structure
Dry van freight moving across multi-state lanes
Average haul length around 700–750 miles
No-touch on most loads
Mix of drop-and-hook and live loads
These lanes are designed to keep drivers moving efficiently, with a balance of longer hauls and consistent reload opportunities that help maintain steady weekly miles.
Run Schedule
12-day cycles followed by a full 48-hour reset every other weekend. Dispatch planning ensures drivers know their next move ahead of time, reducing downtime between loads and allowing for a more organized weekly flow. This schedule works well for drivers who want to stay productive while still having dependable time at home.
Driver Flexibility
The truck can be taken home during resets when approved or parked at a company location if preferred. Orientation is paid, including travel, lodging, and meals. Support staff is available throughout each trip to assist with routing, scheduling, and load-related questions when needed.
