About the Role:

The Driver position at Versalift East is crucial for ensuring the timely and safe transportation of Trucks within the manufacturing sector. This role involves operating various types of trucks, including dump trucks and box trucks, while adhering to all DOT regulations and safety standards. The primary goal is to deliver products efficiently while maintaining the integrity of the cargo and ensuring customer satisfaction. Drivers will also be responsible for managing transportation logistics, including route planning and map reading, to optimize delivery times. Ultimately, this position plays a vital role in supporting the overall operations of the company and contributing to its success in the industry.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A.
• Proven experience in truck driving, particularly with dump trucks and box trucks.
• Strong understanding of DOT regulations and transportation management.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in warehousing and inventory management.
• Familiarity with GPS and other navigation tools.
• Previous experience in the Truck manufacturing industry.

Responsibilities:

• Operate trucks safely and efficiently to transport goods to designated locations.
• Adhere to all DOT regulations and company policies regarding transportation and safety.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
• Manage transportation logistics, including planning routes and reading maps to optimize delivery schedules.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents that occur during transport.

Skills:

The required skills for this position, such as truck driving and knowledge of DOT regulations, are essential for ensuring safe and compliant operations on the road. Daily work will involve using map reading skills to navigate efficiently to various delivery locations, which is critical for meeting tight schedules. A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A is necessary for operating larger vehicles, and familiarity with transportation management will aid in optimizing routes and reducing costs. Preferred skills, such as experience in warehousing, will enhance the driver's ability to manage cargo effectively and understand inventory needs.
