Hours: 1st shift KPSM – M-Th - 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM 

Hourly pay range: $30.00 - $35.00 based on prior experience

A class A surface Metal Finisher is a highly skilled specialist responsible for producing flawless, mirror-finish, or high-aesthetic surfaces on metal parts (steel, aluminum) for consumer - facing, exterior, or premium applications.  They use, hand, power tools (grinders, sanders, polishers) to achieve precise, defect-free, and uniform finishes, requiring extensive experience, high attention to detail, and ability to read blueprints. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Surface Perfection - Grinding, Polishing, and buffing surfaces to ensure they are free from defects such as scratches, pits, burrs, or uneven areas, specifically targeting "Class A" visible quality. 
• Precision Finishing - Utilizing various abrasives, power sanders, and polishing tools to meet strict dimensional and cosmetic tolerances.
• Quality Inspection: Inspecting finished parts using precision tools to confirm they meet engineering drawings, specifications, and client requirements. 
• Material Handling - Preparing, cleaning, and conditioning metal surfaces, which may involve using chemicals, acid wash, or abrasive pads.
• Maintenance & Safety - Maintaining a safe, organized workspace and performing routine maintenance on tools and equipment. 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience - Generally 4-5 years in metal finishing, fabrication, or related trade. 
• Technical Knowledge -  Proficiency with hand grinding, sanding, and buffing techniques (e.g., DA sanders, belt sanders).
• Attention to Detail -  Ability to achieve high-reflectivity, smooth finishes. 
• Technical Skills - Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
• Physical Stamina - Ability to lift over 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
