Laborer Journeyman - Class A CDL

Scope of Position

The Vallejo Company is seeking an individual to join our team as general laborer with a background in the installation/repair/replacement of fiber optics lines. Depending on the division you may need additional skills in gas, water, sewer, asphalt, concrete as we provide full construction services. A Class A CDL w/ a tanker endorsement is required and the ability to locate for directional bore is preferred. 

Essential Functions

• Cleaning and preparing construction sites.
• Loading and unloading materials and equipment.
• Building and taking down scaffolding and temporary structures.
• Digging trenches, compacting earth, and backfilling holes.
• Operating and tending machinery and heavy equipment.
• Following instructions from supervisors and implementing construction plans.
• Assisting skilled tradespeople in their duties.

Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills

• Part of or willingness to join Local 860
• Has teamwork, communication, and strong listening skills
• Adaptable to changes and ability to problem-solve
• Experience in the respected department you are seeking to join
• Be physically active for long periods without getting tired or out of breath. Bend, stretch, twist, or reach out. Use fingers to grasp, move, or assemble very small objects. Adjust body movements or equipment controls to keep pace with speed changes of moving objects.
• Ability to lift minimum 50-75lbs  
• Valid Class A CDL w/ Tanker Endorsement
• Ability to locate for directional bore.
