Job Responsibilities

  • Under general supervision responsible for the delivery/pickup of products as directed by the warehouse manager or designee.

  • Accountable for the receipt, storage, shipping, loading/unloading of products & supplies in a correctional distribution setting.

  • Train and supervise inmates in correct procedures.

  • Perform routine daily vehicle maintenance.

  • Responsible for the security and safekeeping of vehicles and tools.

  • Ensure required delivery paperwork is properly completed.

  • Drive and/or work in other areas include warehouse assistance.

  • Position requires a class "A" commercial driver's license.

  • Schedule subject to change to meet agency demands.

  • Attach 10 yr driving record to application. 

Must successfully complete four (4) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:

A high school diploma and relevant program experience. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required program experience.

SCDC Minimum Requirements:

  • A high school diploma and relevant experience.
  • Must have a Commercial Driver's License - Class A without restrictions. 
  • Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds.
